I decided to:
-wash arm loads of laundry.
-groom the dogs.
-vacuum my whole house, including the nooks and crannies.
-water my mini tree.
-put clean sheets on the bed.
-scrub my poor table, which has developed a yogurt coating that was quite hardened.
-dream up something nice for dinner. This.
-finish one book and start another.
-get down on my hands and knees and chase my wee son around like a maniac.
-fold all of the bloody laundry.
-talk to my cat.
-make a list of words that my son knows, mentally.
-decide to write down all of those words.
Snow, cat, dog, horse, cow, meow, dada, mama, Ella, food, water, bag, ow, uh-oh, clean up, no, yes, yucky, potty, diaper, night-night, down, up, book, toy, sit down, pants, poop, boo-boo, vitamin, shhhhh, dirty, car, train, helicopter, shoes, coat......and probably more, but I cant think of them.
-realize that people might think this means he can speak these words. He might be able to, but he chooses not to. I have a mostly silent child.
Well, my mostly silent child just woke up from his nap waaayyyy too early. Must go attend to him, and then back to work!

A snow day sounds wonderful. I love those low-key, stay in pajama days. And your list sounds equally wonderful - a nice clean, cozy house is the best!
I love your "mental words" list. He's going to cherish that you take the time to record things like that :)
